Quartermaster for Moses
Our problem today seem so difficult until you read this, which brings my thinking back to the saying, “Don't sweat the small stuff” and it is all small stuff.
God stirs the waters in our lives and answers our prayers. Maybe not the way we expected it to be answered but nevertheless, he still answers prayer. Through
time, most of us will agree that everything usually works for the best. Enjoy this article.
Moses and the people were in the desert, but what was he going to do with them? They had to be fed, and feeding the 2 or 3 million people requires a lot of
food.
According to the Quartermaster general in the Army, it is reported that Moses would have needed:
1,500 tons of food each day. That would take two freight trains each a mile long to accomplish this.
4,000 tons of firewood (in the desert?). This would take a few more freight trains, each one a mile long to accomplish each day.
11,000,000 gallons of water each day. It would take a freight train with tank cars 1,800 miles long each day.
Getting to the Red sea at night. If they had a double line, it would take 35 days and nights to cross the 800-mile stretch.
Crossing the Red Sea. If it was 3 miles wide, it would take 5,000 people abreast to cross in one night.
Each time they camped, the camp was about the size of Rhode Island or a total of 750 square miles. All this space for a nightly camp.
Do you think that Moses figures this out before he left Egypt? I think not. Now think about your problems. How big are they? Moses believed in God and his ability
to meet his needs. God took care of Moses and he can take care of our small needs.
