I then thought on how our pastors are declaring the soon return of Jesus. How fitting of this Christmas
season for us to be joyous over His birth and return.
This year I am praying for peace. It is so easy
for us to focus on pastoral duties or difficulties we often face that we cannot see the impact we are making. That is why I want you to know I am
praying this prayer over every pastor this month and throughout 2026:
"May the Lord bless and keep you. May He always shine His face upon you, your ministry, and your family.
May He always show favor towards you, be kind to you, and to give you peace in everything you do."
I would like for you to focus on the word peace. It is easy to get discouraged, tired, or even be upset when someone tells you they did not like your sermon or the
direction you feel the church should go. But let me encourage you today, there is peace when we understand we
are doing what God is telling us to do.
As for me, I love peace. I often ask for peace because it takes me to a place where I am not sidetracked or
distracted by anything else. Can we keep the Christmas spirit alive this year and all through 2026 that brings love, joy and peace? I hope so.
It is a wonderful time of the year and the greatest time for you to be a pastor!!! Please know that I am
praying this prayer over you and your family every day and throughout 2026. You have such a special calling to proclaim the return of Jesus. May God richly bless you and your family this Christmas
season and throughout 2026!
