33 Ways to Say ...
‘Thank You Pastor for All You
Do!’
|
|
|
|
|
|
October is Pastor Appreciation Month. Pastor, I hope your church is blessing and honoring you this month. We at Pastoral Care Inc. want to say, "Thank you!"
for all you do for the Kingdom of God.
Many pastors don’t
realize how much your church members love and appreciate you. Sure, every church has its naysayers. You know, the kind of person who is happiest when they are criticizing and complaining. The kind of
person who can always find a rain cloud attached to every silver lining.
But pastor, please take it from me. I visit dozens of churches every year; I have talked to your members and attenders -- or others just like them. I want you to know that the vast
majority of your members love you, appreciate you, and look up to you for the special work you do.
They admire your knowledge of God’s Word and your devotion to serving others. They appreciate the many times you have shared special
moments with their families -- leading weddings, funerals, praying with them in the hospital, etc.

|
|
|
That’s one reason they keep coming. That’s why they like to call you “Pastor.” Because they love, respect, and appreciate
you.
Unfortunately, many
people just aren’t very good at saying thanks. They don’t know the right words to say. They don’t realize how much their positive words would mean to you. So pastor, let me say it on their
behalf.
Here are
33 THINGS your church members want to tell you, if they had the right words and the right opportunity. 33 REASONS your church members love and
appreciate you.
“Thank you for your
CALLING. Thank you for your FAITHFULNESS. Thank you for your DEDICATION.
“Thank you for your
LOVE. Thank you for your CARING. Thank you for your COMPASSION. Thank you for your GENTLENESS.
Thank you for your PRAYERS.
“Thank you for your WISDOM. Thank you for your ENCOURAGEMENT and
SUPPORT. Thank you for your PATIENCE.
“Thank you for your
ANOINTING. Thank you for your MESSAGE. Thank you for sharing the TRUTH. Thank you for KEEPING
US on the path of righteousness.
“Thank you for being
a SHEPHERD. Thank you for your HEART. Thank you for all the HOSPITAL VISITS. Thank you for BEING
THERE when our family needed you. Thank you for your GENEROSITY.
“Thank you for your
GUIDANCE. Thank you for your THOUGHTFULNESS. Thank you for your SMILE. Thank you for SEEING THE
BEST in me.
“Thank you for
setting an EXAMPLE of Christian marriage and Christian living. Thank you for setting an EXAMPLE for having a hunger for more of God. Thank you for
CARING ABOUT THE LOST.
“Thank you for your
GIVING. Thank you for the many SACRIFICES you have endured. Thank you for your
PERSEVERANCE.
“Thank you for
BEING OUR PASTOR! Thank you for ALL YOU DO for the Kingdom of God!”
Pastor, we greatly
appreciate you! Your calling is very special. Yes, it is challenging, and at times it can be difficult. As pastors ourselves, we understand that.
Pastoral Care is a
ministry for you as a pastor. We are here to bless, encourage, and support you and your family as you follow God's calling. We are your friend and we care about you.
Give us a call and
let us be a blessing to you and your family. Call us or email us at Pastoral Care Inc.: 918-758-4147, jfuller@pastoralcareinc.org.
Again,
thank you for all you do for the Kingdom of God!

Ten Quotations for Pastors
|
|
|
|
|
• Stuart Briscoe (evangelical pastor, mid-20th century): “Qualifications of a pastor: the mind of a scholar, the heart of a
child, and the hide of a rhinoceros.”
• Dietrich Bonhoeffer (German Lutheran pastor, mid-20th century): “A pastor who does not pray daily for his congregation is not
a pastor.”
• A.W. Tozer (Christian &
Missionary Alliance pastor, early 20th century): “God is looking for those with whom He can do the impossible -- what a pity that we plan only the things that we can do by
ourselves."
• Rick Warren (Southern Baptist
pastor, late 20th century): “The first step to becoming what God made you to be is to stop worrying about what others want you to be.”
• Martin Luther (Protestant
reformer, 16th century): “Prayer, study, and suffering make a pastor.”
• A.W. Tozer: “God never uses anyone greatly until He tests them deeply.”
• Dietrich Bonhoeffer: “A pastor should never complain about his congregation, certainly never to other people, but also not to
God. A congregation has not been entrusted to him in order that he should become its accuser before God and men.”
• John Maxwell (pastor and
author, late 20th century): “The goal of the pastor is not to get people to show up but to get people to grow up.”
• Will Graham (Baptist
evangelist, 21st century): “Today, more pastors than ever need profound encouragement and rejuvenation.”
• John C. Maxwell: “For pastors
who have a dream and who are walking in obedience but still don't have the resources they need, don't worry. Keep walking in obedience.”

• 2 Timothy 4:1-2: “I solemnly exhort you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to
judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and exhort, with great patience and
instruction.”
• 2 Timothy 2:15:
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a worker who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.”
• Ephesians 4:11-12:
“He gave some as ... pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ.”
• Proverbs 27:23:
“Know well the condition of your flocks, and pay attention to your herds.”
• Galatians 6:9:
“Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary.”
• Titus 1:7: “The
overseer must be beyond reproach as God’s steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not overindulging in wine, not a bully, not greedy for money.”
• Hebrews 13:17:
“Your leaders ... keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account.” |
