Most churches are not growing. The reason lies within the church itself. Perhaps the church is comfortable with the number of people now attending, perhaps we have become more inwardly forcused than we are outwardly focused, or perhaps we have lost having an evangelistic heart for the lost. According to Statistics, over 15,000 churches will close this year and another 15,000 won’t be able to pay their pastor a living wage.
America needs what the church has, but who will reach out to them? Our nation is hurting, and people are crying out for help. Without sounding too harsh, is the church hearing those cries? Most of us see the violence, chaos, protests, and a moral decay. While Christians may not like what they see, people are communicating they need help, they just do not know the church has the answer to their cries. We need to move the church forward to reach those who are hurting. The real question is whether the church can set new goals that will include the lost and hurting.
We have listed 10 ways to move the church forward in 2026. We are praying that these steps will help you reach the lost for Jesus Christ and to make a positive difference in the lives of people in your community.
