How to Deal with Criticism

It is very difficult for any person to deal with criticism or be around critical people. As pastors, you endeavor to help everyone and perhaps wish to please most people. But there is no way to please everyone, especially if you are encouraging them to change things in their life. Many of the criticisms found in the church do not line up with the mission of the church. How does a pastor deal with these and how can a pastor best discern whether criticism is legitimate?  How can a pastor stay upbeat and positive in the face of criticism?  

 

This is a simple outline to deal with most criticisms of the church.  Our goal is for you to maintain an active prayer life, seek personal time for yourself and family, get rest and seek outside interests, don't allow the small things to become mountains, maintain a Godly testimony, display humility, stay on course of what God is calling you to do, and to love everyone.
